Foulds School EN5 4NR

Visit to Foulds School - Barnet, Hertfordshire
I visited Foulds School in Barnet, Hertfordshire, on 28 February 2006 and gave a Kernowland in Erthwurld slideshow presentation and talk followed by a 'Meet the Author' booksigning event.
The following is some information about the school from their website...

"Foulds is a good school and justifiably enjoys a good level of parental confidence. Typical comments include, 'a lovely community school', 'children love it', 'so pleased with my child's progress'. Pupils achieve well because of good teaching and a curriculum enriched with many interesting opportunities. They learn in an ethos in which all pupils are valued, no matter what their backgrounds or abilities."
OFSTED, November 2007.
Foulds School is situated in High Barnet. We are a one and a half form entry school. There has been a school on this site since 1910, when the school was originally called Byng Road School. The school is sited in the heart of residential housing, placed close to a thriving community of shops, businesses and buildings including local churches and the library. Most of the children live within walking distance of the school. We have a School Travel Plan and, in line with that, encourage all members of the school community and visitors to travel to and from the school in a sustainable way e.g. walking, by bus, or cycling.
At Foulds we follow a Creative Curriculum.  We integrate the separate curriculum areas into a topic, which may last for a fortnight, half a term or longer, and which is brought alive by exciting, active learning experiences.
We develop the children's independent learning skills through personalised learning; children let the teachers know what they know already about a topic and what they would like to learn.  Above all, we believe that learning should be fun!
